The Crew I Run With

When I was younger, I remember being told to be mindful of the “crew I ran with.” There was one individual in particular that was a bad influence. He got into trouble from time to time (spray painting the neighbors car like the General Lee and starting fights with the neighbor kids…once got shot in the ass with a blowdart gun).
Now I don’t necessarily believe that he was a bad influence on me because I knew right from wrong. However, I am well aware of the “crew I run with” now and I guarantee that no one is spray painting any cars.
The crew I run with now are overachievers. Men that scale their lives to get every ounce out of it that they can. They push each other to be better than the day before. This crew supports each other and would just about do anything that you ask of them. They are my “Band of Brothers”.
Do you have a group like this? Do you have someone that you can call when you are in need and they stop what they are doing to drive 1000 miles to be at your side?
If you do, you know the importance of these people in your life. If you don’t, you need to find a crew like the one that I have.
People have reached out to me the past 36 hours and shared how proud they were of me even when I failed. They shared words of encouragement and said they still loved me. Because of them I am a stronger person because of them.
My road in self improvement started later in life. You see, I did all the bad things and messed up quite a bit early in my life. It was once that I decided to be better than I was turning out did I begin to make massive strides.
Self-confidence went through the roof and my motivation to be better everyday pushed me to new heights. The original bar was set low has now been pushed to new heights. My drive and effort will get me close, but my crew…they push me so hard to make sure that I achieve my goals and dreams.
Please take some time over the next couple weeks and take inventory of your friends. You may find out that you have a friend that is holding you back or speaks bad about others. If so, find some new friends.
You may know that you need to make a change with a friend that drags you down with them. You know that they don’t need to be in your life.
Life only happens once. You better make sure you have a crew to run with you that will support you even when things are bad.
