Invisible Counselors

Have you ever read “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill? This is a book that has had tremendous impact on my life. The information contained in the book, originally released in 1939, is still prevalent today. One thing that created much intrigue for me was the idea of a group of “Invisible Counselors”.
Now this idea may seem strange to some, but know that it can work when it is applied. The idea, as I understand and use it, is to create a group of people that can help you work through difficult things. This person can be alive or dead. You use their matter of influence or knowledge to help you through some of the trials and tribulations that life can bring.
My group of “Invisible Counselors” includes God (the Creator of all things), Marcus Aurelius, Winston Churchill, Elon Musk and Muhammad Ali. There are others, however, these are who I call on most in my time of need.
God is who I call on daily. My focus on growing intimate with the Creator has been an ongoing journey. This adventure is full of ups and downs. Knowing that I am surrounded in His glory gives me peace.
Marcus Aurelius is part of my group as he was a man of self reflection. He worked on himself continually to become the best he could be.
Winston Churchill was the right Prime Minister for the job. He failed numerous times before, however, we was able to lead England when hope seemed to be lost. Mr. Churchill was quite the “out of the box” thinker.
Elon Musk is here because he is an innovator. Always looking forward and appears to have the common good in mind with his ventures.
Rounding out my top 5 “Invisible Counselors” is Muhammad Ali. The great boxing champion is not here for his God given gift of fighting. Mr. Ali is here for his integrity. His stood up for what he believed and lost his title when he opposed the Vietnam War.
These are my “Invisible Counselors”. None is greater than God. However, when I have an issue in front of me, I think of them and ask how they might handle it. Please note that it always starts with God for me.
You may want to enlist a group of people in your “Invisible Counselors” as well. When you are troubled in business or life in general, consult these individuals to gather their advice. This can help you advance through the issue quickly and move on.
Let me know who you would put in your group. - JP
