I'm Not Crying...

A couple weeks ago, I heard the MLS team I support was having a special day on July 1st for veterans. I have six season tickets to the Nashville SC games and decided that I would donate my tickets to the cause for the day. The people at Nashville SC pointed me to the FUBAR Supporters Group that was putting on the special day.
After reaching out to the group they informed me that they found two Purple Heart recipients and their families would be using my donated tickets. When I read the message and thanked the group for finding them a good home I broke down in tears.
Words could not be formed for the ten minutes or so that I sobbed like a young boy getting his heart broken for the first time. Being humbled that not one but two Purple Heart recipients would be sitting in these seats gave me a sense of honor.
Now…I don’t believe in war. However, I have and will always support the men and women who wear a military uniform. They fight for each of us and risk the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. I will always honor men and women who put it all on the line.
When I think about the people who will be sitting in our seats, what they did makes anything that I do insignificant. They gave it there all. They were the epitome of what a soldier wants to become. Their bravery is unparalleled. I am honored.
Can’t keep my eyes dry as I type.
The amazing thing about this is that I have been oblivious to groups like this or even giving to charities. This was the most amazing experience that I have ever been part of and so very thankful I did this. My support of groups like FUBAR Supporters Group will continue to grow.
If you are military, ex-military or have a family member that is/was in our Armed Forces. Thank you! Your service does not go unnoticed and is forever appreciated.
If you are able, please find groups that support our military veterans. They would appreciate to hear from you.
