Focusing on Self Improvement

My focus on self improvement became somewhat of a battle cry. Each morning, I would wake and sit in front of a computer and put myself through Cardone University to get some of the best training in the world when I comes to sales….and life. The product I consumed quickly and moved onto reading books.

When I was graduating high school, like many kids of that age, thought I knew everything. My thinking was that the school system would never fail me and taught me everything that I really need to know about life and what is in it. The truth is I didn’t know shit and the school system failed me completely.

Now that my focus is on learning about everything I can learn about everything. There is not one category I like to stay in when it comes to learning. Reading books on ways to upgrade your health has been popular with me over the last few years. So much so that I now drink my first cup of coffee of the day with MCT Oil and grass fed butter. Making this change in my diet has helped bridging my intermittent fasting and the feeling that my thought process is much sharper.

Through reading and writing you can find life’s little hacks to improve your day to day. As of this writing, I have started reading the book “The Bitcoin Standard” by Saifedean Ammous. It shares views on our current monetary system and how bitcoin my have the potential to be the world’s number one currency in the future.

Also, self improvement can come through putting your body through a bit of stress. This week I have scheduled four separate workouts. The first workout is a standard 45 minute walk in the morning. This helps get the blood flowing and gives me a quick hit of endorphins.

The second scheduled this week is a 1000 rep workout. This workout includes using dumbbells, kettle bells and body weight. 100 reps of each of 10 exercises will give me some strength and conditioning of my aging muscles.

Next I will do a 1000 rep ab workout. The intent of this workout is to get strength and stability in my core.

Lastly, I will do 12 rounds on a heavy bag. The combination jabs, straights and hooks will help me on my fighting technique and give me a great cardio workout.

You may look at this and say that I’m nuts or that I can’t possibly succeed in maintaining this long term. You may be right, but I haven’t tested my body in such a long time that I know it will be difficult. Really the only way that I fail this is that I quit. Given the state of my callused mind, I find that unlikely.

True learning happens in the “real world” and you only grow if you test yourself over and over.
